The Course

We have a hidden gem in Tara Glen and we welcome opportunities to share it with visitors and guests as well as enjoy it ourselves – all year round.

Our golf course is a deceptively challenging 9-Hole parkland course, with alternate tee-boxes in play, to add variety to the course on your second time around.

The original course design was overseen by ‘Himself’ Christy O’Connor Snr. in the early 1980’s and has undergone many improvements since then. All greens up to USGA standard. The Men’s Course is a par 71 measuring 6,212 yds and the Ladies course is a par 72 measuring 5,565 yds.Our signature hole is the Par 3  18th hole measuring 208 yds for the men and 147 yds for the ladies requiring a carry over a lake, to an elevated green with the Irish Sea as a backdrop. It’s a challenge for any golfer.

Accuracy and course management are well rewarded, as the course boundaries and a selection of hazards encroach on all holes.

If the golfing challenge is proving too much, then just relax and enjoy the serenity and scenery. The sight and sounds of the adjacent Irish Sea will surely help you unwind.

Enjoy the various pictures of our beautiful golf course – we believe you’ll want to come & play!

Our Clubs

Our Men’s & Ladies’ Golf Clubs are fully affiliated with Golf Ireland, so your golf handicap can be fully assigned from & managed from Tara Glen. Both clubs offer a full range & variety of competitions throughout the golfing season. There is plenty opportunity to showcase your golf course to friends and relations, through semi-opens and a variety of team events.

We use an online booking system for competition time-sheet reservation & we also use e-mail & SMS text services to keep members up to date on happenings, the golfing season, the highlight being the Men’s and Ladies Captain’s Prize both held on seperate weekends in August.

During the peak summer months of July & August there is a vibrant programme of Junior golf, for kids aged 10 years and upwards.

So even if you don’t play golf yourself (yet!), your children will have a great opportunity to take up the game and perhaps become the next Irish golf star. For visitor enquiries regarding Green Fees, email golf@taraglen.ie

We aim to offer a genuine and warm welcome to all, however during the peak summer months the course is very busy and it may not be possible to accommodate visitors.
